Becoming Ms. Wheelchair America is an opportunity available to women
across the country!
- Ms. Wheelchair America is a pageant unlike any other in the country. Although some cast aspersions on beauty pageants for being shallow and appearance-conscious, Ms. Wheelchair America is anything but! This contest, open to women between the ages of 21 and 60, focuses on the achievments of women who utilize wheelchairs for their daily mobility needs and who will be able to serve as powerful, effective advocates for the disabled across the country.
- Ms. Wheelchair America contests are held at the state level, with state champions eventually competing for the national title. Contestants are judged on a variety of characteristics including self-perception, communication skills and accomplishments. Judges listen to prepared speaches, conduct personal interviews and interview contestants on stage before making a decision on the winner.
- For the right woman, participating in the Ms. Wheelchair contest can be a wonderful opportunity to gain confidence and poise while serving as a competant spokeswoman for the disabled.
