How To Buy Mobility Scooters UK
By Lisa Reynolds
Seen by many as a lifeline for keeping in touch with friends, family and the wider community, mobility scooters UK pensioners are now able to take advantage of, have moved on considerably over recent years. Giving many people back their freedom, and a sense of being able to look after themselves, it is unsurprising they continue to grow in popularity.
When I first started looking at what was available, it was great fun. But having chatted with a couple of sales people, it dawned on me that there were a few things to bear in mind.
Most mobility scooters UK pensioners want will be for use outside of course. However, it can be easy to forget key points that do not immediately come to mind. Spend a little time having a look at the road and paving surfaces you will be using, and ensure your preferred scooter and tyres can handle the terrain.
The capacity of batteries and design of scooters also varies. Because of this, you should try and work out what the likeliest longest journey will be. Remember to include both outwards and return journey’s, and give yourself a little contingency for those times when the unexpected happens.
Other questions to have in mind include: Is it easy to dismantle? Can I store it easily? What warranties and service cover should I have?
Some questions are not easy to answer, so it could be advisable to check through your exact requirements with your care advisor. This is particularly so if you need to have your scooter adapted with tailored seats or footrests.
No matter where you go, mobility scooters UK-wide are an increasingly common site and selecting which is for you can be great fun. Just remember to have all questions ticked, before deciding on your purchase.
